What a lovely day for a walk in the bush at Kumbartcho and along
the South Pine River corridor. There were 63 different bird sightings were made- which seemed to please our visitors from Birds
Queensland.
The group was a pleasure to
entertain, I don't really know if entertain is the word, I had
no difficulty holding their attention till someone in the group managed
to spot another type of bird then all the sophisticated cameras
tripods and binoculars would reappear. All discussion
would cease till an identification by the group was made.
After a talk we went to the
nursery. An introduction to Irene the Nursery Manager was. She was able show the visitors all her bird friendly plants that are propagated in the nursery.
Our guests went away armed
with brochures. Even some sales were
made and promises to return as Kumbartcho Sanctuary is a "Must See Place" for bird spotting.
